Upton announces nearly $4 million of grants for southwest Michigan health servicesWASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, announced today that four local health services will receive nearly $4 million in additional funding to assist them in the local response to the coronavirus crisis. The grants are being awarded through the health center Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding, which Upton voted for and President signed almost two weeks ago. In Michigan’s Sixth Congressional District, the following health centers are receiving grants:
“We need all hands on deck as we fight the coronavirus crisis, that’s for certain, and this additional funding will provide critical resources are health centers desperately need as they care for patients and save lives,” Upton said. “But there’s more to do. We must continue all efforts to get more protective equipment into the hands of our health care workers.” Upton announced in March a previous round of funding for community health centers, as well.
