WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) today issued the following statement after the U.S. House passed the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement with wide bipartisan support. “The new US-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement will help American workers, American jobs, and the American economy, and I am proud to support it. Canada and Mexico are two of our state’s and our nation’s most important trading partners, supporting more than 2 million jobs nationally at 43,000 manufacturers. “The bottom line is it’s a win for Michigan workers. Trade is absolutely vital to our state’s economy, and our auto suppliers, manufacturers, and farmers will all benefit greatly from this new agreement. I hope to see it passed through the Senate and signed by the President quickly.” ### |
