Upton on Recent Rural Development Grants in Southwest MichiganTwo grants announced for Berrien & Van Buren countiesU.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, today released the following statement after the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced two new investments in the Village of Baroda and Van Buren County totaling $136,000: “These new rural development investments will have a positive impact on Southwest Michigan. They will directly help boost our local economy and create local jobs. We’re excited to see these projects and investments move forward for the betterment of all in our communities.” The first USDA Rural Development grant is for $95,000 for the Village of Baroda in Berrien County. The investment will be used to construct a road through an industrial park. The project is anticipated to create and/or save at least 20 jobs. To learn more click here.
